Dinner Round The Table

It's already been a whirlwind of a summer.....but we're having a blast & making memories...FUN memories!! These are the days that going to the pool WAYYYY out weighs staying home to keep a sparkling house! Then quickly coming home to hit the ball fields & then running home to hop into bed only to start a new adventure the next day!! Ball ended last week....we love it while it's here but we love it when it ends! It opens up our evenings.....last night was our 1st at home together as a family! We didn't even make it to the pool.....rather we took an afternoon nap {most of us that is!}& then when I realized Emery was not going to give in to a beautiful afternoon rest {you'll regret it one day sister!} I got up & googled a cobbler recipe! While Kayden kept on a snoozin' we played with peaches, blackberries, flour, sugar, butter {mmmmm butter!!}, baking powder, milk, and cinnamon & sugar! It took a little longer to put it together but a lazy summer afternoon memory was made!
No worries, we each took a bite before dinner....just to make sure it turned out!
Pretty sure Jon was the most excited about sitting in our usual spots forming a semi-circle!
 On the menu:
French Lentils/Quinoa
Roasted Okra
Ending in this YUMMY gooey goodness!!
I found myself even smiling during clean up....Jon wrangling up FULL OF ENERGY GIRLS for baths....mmmmmm love these summer days!

Baseball 2012

Baseball season kicked off many weeks ago....good thing we love it so much because adding 1 more thing to our list of "to do's" during the school makes life a bit more interesting {said in the most positive way!!}! Especially since Jon coaches both of the girls' teams! Who knew there was politics in kids baseball?? It's true. I tell NO lies! But we love it all the same!

A perk to daddy being Head Coach: He deems Emery #6
{hint: she's 6 y/o}

& Kayden #8 {hint: she's 8 y/o}!! YEP! BIG PERKS!

I think he does a great job coaching.....these little ones are his fav age to coach!! They do try oh so hard & listen well!! We got 3 kids from our team last year who requested Jon as their kids' coach! GOOO JON!!

This age is a little tougher to coach & we've had ourselves a rough season! It's tough to be the looser....for the kids & the parents! Everyone likes to matter how "let's not take this game so serious" kind of person you are!!

We started out the season with some BRRRRR kind of weather but TN hates to keep things cool & we've quickly turned to sweating our back ends off!

Jon's Parents attempting to stay warm

goooooOOOOOO PIRATES!! Arrrrrrrr!

Laurel Falls Hike

My postings to this space haven't even been patchy....they've come to a screeching halt! I don't have a reason, I so love this space as a journal for myself & family to be able to look back on all the memories we make.....sometimes BIG & sometimes small! True it appears that all is happy & perfect but it's just what I choose to "journal" to these pages....we too have our bad days! Life is busy & my pull to this space just wasn't strong in the last month although we haven't been couch potato's eating Bon Bon's! It exhausts me to think about going backwards & starting from where I left I'm just picking up from present....minus this post! This is a hike we took many weeks was a Friday & a much needed day of being hugged by nature!! My family of 4 requires this now & then.....a good hike. Sometimes running....sometimes walking....sometimes quiet....sometimes noisy....sometimes noticing little nuggets of nature.....sometimes just looking ahead & pondering life. Yet when we step off those trails all just seems well with the world! For many hours we've left our worries at the doorstep of that trail! Soooo many good things about where we live....but one in particular is we are able to visit places we've never been & on some occasions places that my husband {who grew up here} have never been!
