Farm Birthday Party!

Sunday afternoon we had a friends' birthday party to go to. It was a petting zoo and the girls loved the animals! It was a pretty chilly afternoon but we were able to warm up with hot chocolate and a huge fire! 

Kayden loved the horse rides and probably rode about 4 or 5 times!

Em wasn't too sure but gave it a try as long as Jon and I would walk along side her!

Emery was especially fond of this rooster, in particular the red crown which she kept pinching and when I would say to stop she responded: "I not hurting her I just feelin' it"!!!

The owner held this duck on his back and Emery got a kick out him paddling his legs....the man told her the duck was giving her high five!!!

Grandma

Sunday Gram's nursing home had a Thanksgiving meal for the resident's and family. Kristi and I were able to go and she looked beautiful all dressed up! We had a nice couple hours with her!

Kayden and Emery are both in dance and four times a year two of the classes go t0 a nursing home (which happens to be the nursing home that Gram is at!!!!) to perform a few dances! The residents love and it gives the kids a chance to show off their talents!!

I didn't realize until we got there that Emery's class was also involved so she was in "street" clothes but did very well dancing (she is just in the last 2 weeks beginning to dance in front of people)! Below she is so excited that her Oma (what they call my grandma), cousin, and auntie are front and center to watch!!!

New headbands and a hurt toe!

Kayden has still been using her sleeping star chart and it continues to be a huge success!! So after 25 nights of going to bed without difficulty it was time to go pick another prize! The choice for both of them without any convincing from me was headbands from the Gap! I won't complain either when the prize was a wopping $3.50!! (thanks to Amy Hadfield, if you're reading this, who sent me a coupon!!) It's fun to watch their fashion choices, I often wonder if they'll be complete opposites or just the same!!

Just had to throw this in as sometimes they are just overcome with love for each other!!!

Sorry about her booger picking....that's a whole other blog in and of itself as this is one of her many past times!!! But she chose a great 70's style one! Love it!!!

Then lets talk about me for a minute! My little Emery Grae is not the graceful of girls....hoping dance will turn that around for her! She falls for no reason, trips when there is nothing to trip on, and the list could go on and on!!!! So I have often wondered where her lack of grace comes from?! But as I was taking a picture of my  hurt toe it hit me that she quite possibly could get this from me as this is the 2nd time in, maybe 2 months, that I am now blogging about a hurt "something" on my body!! Kayden was calling for me to come get her yesterday morning and as I was running through the house, trying to avoid her waking up her sister, I totally ran my baby toe into the door frame! I think it hurt soooo much it didn't even hurt if that makes any sense at all! I'm quite sure it's broken but I'm more disturbed by the bruising! Thank goodness that flip flop season is over!

Day at the Christmas Market!

I know it's not even Thanksgiving and I used the word Christmas on this blog!! I met my mom and twin sister this morning to go to the annual YMCA Christmas Market at the convention center downtown. We decided we needed a non stress day and to be together!! They draw names for gifts from the various vendors throughout the day. The year before last my sister won a gift, last year I won a gift, and so this year we were sure it was mom's turn but NO it was ME again!! I got a very cute pair of earrings! It was a fun few hours spent together! 

This morning as I was getting the girls ready for school Kayden calls for me to come into the bathroom to get her picture and this is how I find her posed!!! So funny!

Weekend with a high school friend!!

One of my high school friends was able to come from Missouri and spend Wednesday thru Saturday with us! We have kept in touch over the years but distance has made it hard to keep in touch as well as we'd like, not to mention we've added husbands and a few kids to the mix! It was as if not a day had passed......even though 14+ years have passed since high school!!!! We had a blast, the kids loved each other instantly! Heather thought she needed to warn me about her kids but I said OH NO I need to WARN YOU about mine! They were no different except I have girls which equals added emotions to EVERYTHING!! Heather got to experience that first hand....I think she's thankful even more for her 2 boys!!! Thursday we went to the mall as Santa was coming to town and we watched a fun parade....I sadly forgot my camera!

Friday we went to the Creative Discovery Museum and the love it!

Halloween '08

A few days behind!!! Please forgive me! Halloween was also our 4 year anniversary!!!! We're not huge Halloween people so we didn't really think down the road that instead of a candle light dinner we'd be out trick or treating!!! The weather was perfect, it turned out to be just the 4 of us and we had a GREAT night!!!

Kayden was totally exhausted, she had her Halloween party at school that day also. She came home from trick or treating....took a shower to get all the paint off....ate a cupcake from school (not 1 piece of candy)....laid down on the couch and passed out!!!
